Main Wedding Trends of the Autumn-Winter Season 2022-2023

This season's wedding dresses are all about luxurious decor, experiments with shapes and volumes, and reinterpretation of classics. What has the new wedding season prepared for us — read below.

Bows

Bows are extremely popular for several seasons in a row. Every year, designers interpret this romantic detail in completely different ways: some of them decorate dresses with large bows on the back or a waistline, while others put bows on the shoulders. Both voluminous and solid bows, as well as elegant and small ones, will be relevant.

Puffed Sleeves

Emphasis on the sleeves is another tendency from previous seasons. These include bouffant sleeves that remind of the Regency era, airy buff sleeves, and so-called bishop sleeves. Moreover, sleeves become a functional and practical detail today. As soon as you get tired of them or the sleeves bother you — you can easily take them off.

Ruffles

Ruffled is always about dreaminess, romanticism, and lightness. This season designers offer many ways to wear ruffles on the big day — from sculptural puffed skirts to airy details on sleeves.

Victorian Style

Last year, Princess Diana's niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, got married in a lace wedding dress with a high neck, puffed shoulders, and delicate buttons at the front. A look was created by the Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana. Later, Victorian-style dresses became extremely popular. Lace, satin, flowers, or sequins — designers from all over the world that are inspired by epoch never cease to amaze.

Floral Appliqués

Flowers are the basis of wedding fashion. But in the new season, their usage has changed a lot. Voluminous, three-dimensional flowers that look as realistic as possible become an essential part of every wedding look. Small floral applications on puffed dresses or laconic models with large buds — all of them look impressive.

A Square Neckline

After the release of the Bridgertons series, elements of the Regency era began to appear in wedding collections. Square necklines, as the main stylistic element of the epoch, have become a part of minimalist dresses and made them quite charming. The combination of simple silhouette, dense fabric, and a square neckline is a stylish choice for modern classics lovers.

Puffed Strapless Dresses

A gown with a sweetheart neckline, a gorgeous skirt, and the absence of straps are significant elements of timeless dresses that are out of fashion changes. Victoria Beckham, Chrissy Teigen, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and many other celebrities went down the aisle in princess dresses in their days. In the new season, such wedding looks will be equally relevant.
